Mr Shyamalan graduated from the Royal Free Hospital and completed his basic surgical training at the Royal London Hospital where he did Plastics hand surgery, so starting his love of hands!
He was Fellowship trained in Australia and now works as a NHS Consultant Hand Surgeon.
In the last few years he has used new techniques in wrist arthroscopy, basal thumb joint replacements and minimally invasive therapy for Dupuytren’s disease (percutaneous needle fasciotomy and collagenase ‘Xiapex’).
He is committed to education, being a reviewer for the Journal of Hand British & European and an Education Supervisor. He has forged close relationships with hand therapists and regional centres in hand surgery. He has experience in Governance and has been invited to be an examiner for the British Hand Diploma.
He is a dedicated family man and an avid rugby fan. His mission statement is to create a friendly hand centre, offering an early diagnosis and treatment plan. He strives to treat what he can on the day and works closely with a team of therapists.
